i'm meeting my family's elder for breakfast tomorrow upon her request. why am i not looking forward to this? let me tell you.
i don't really know her. it's going to be a bunch of "where do you work? what are you studying? how ARE you?"s. either that or discussion of my grandma. personally, i don't need it. although i was upset at first, i've realized now that she's infinately better off now, and it truly was her time. she was 96 years old, for heaven's sake! she didn't want to live any longer in the condition she was in. i don't think it's necessary to discuss...but hey, whatever.
really, it'll just be awkward and force me to wake up an hour early. i like sleeping.
i guess i'd just rather not drag everything out...am i a bad person for not wanting to talk to my elder about my grandmother's death?

No, you are not a bad person for not wanting to talk to the elder. Everyone grieves in their own way, it appears that you have made your peace with your grandmother's death. I really don't think that anyone should force you to talk about something you don't want to. www.angelfire.com/journal2/beangrl/hug.gif [/IMG]

thanks.
it actually wasn't bad and she didn't really ask about my grandma at all...mostly just school etc...
*yawn* i'm sooooooo tired now...my body doesn't like being jerked from sleep at 8:15am...

well at least you got it done and over with...but I just have to laugh because 8:15am is no where near early for me...it would be a luxury to sleep til 6 am most mornings.
