Link to story hereIt's so sad....So much for going in there to bring peace... IMO...I think we are doing more harm than good by being over there. Granted Saddam needed to be stopped, but we have yet to find these WMD's that the US govt was so adment that they were there. After the "liberation" most of the archeological and artistic history of the area has been looted and destroyed. There are so many different ethnic and religous factions, that they cannot even agree on a form of government. This whole thing just makes me sad

I guess Officially now Blah is now the president. Like you said hopefully it will bring peace to the nation. But somehow I get the feeling that there is going to be a lot more fighting over there before it's resolved. I'm kinda iffey about this since the vice president is now the president. My concern is, is Blah like Taylor...will it be peaceful for a short time or until the US backs off, then revert to it's former state. I mean, sure Taylor is gone, that's good...but Blah could be just as evil, because he did work for Taylor.

I know what you are saying...but it seems that these types of beliefs lead to more hateful acts. My concern is that he is going to become a target for these factions...

Story HereThis has been in the news quite a bit, stirring up some contraversy. After the decision was announced a number of bishops walked out. My personal opinion: Congrats to Rev. V. Gene Robinson !!!! His parishoners voted for him because he was the best candidate. It is a shame, however, that some people's closed mindedness and homophobia may lead to further problems for him. He has already been falsely accused of inappropriate behavior all in an effort to keep him from becoming bishop.

Obviously a place for current events...from the silly to the serious....for any type of debate....but be prepared that not everyone is going to agree with you. Remember to criticize the post and not the poster. No need to get angry over anything discussed in here, its a place for sharing ideas and learning from each other. As always, think before you hit the submit button, is what you are saying in your post something that you would like someone to say to you.

Unfortunately there is no way I will be able to tranfer all of this stuff over to the new forum It won't be ready for a little while...until I can get stuff organized, but take a look and check it out...

Yeah so, one of my image hosters decided to up and close down so I had to reroute all of the smilies and some of the images...so that is why some of the old posts have red x's....I think I switched them all over, but if you see a red x let me know.

I know most people are familiar with these new features, except for maybe the Karma feature. The Karma feature is basically rating the other members....so say for example I say something that you agree with you can give me a ...but there is also the opposite of that, which may hurt people's feelings...so we will see how it goes and if it turns into a "popularity" thing, I'll get rid of it.

Like I mentioned before, our host is going to be upgrading the system.....sometime in the near future (I have no clue when, but we will be notified). I figure I'd give you a list of new features that will be in the new version. support.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=pbv4&action=display&n=1&thread=1053513287Karma (optional feature). Each user can have their own karma, which other users can praise or smite a user to increase or decrease the users karma. For dates, "Yesterday" will also be added in addition to the already existing "Today." Posts may show up as something like "Posted on Yesterday at 12:22 am" Numbers that are displayed such as number of posts on a board, number of posts a user made, etc will contain commas (so 10000 becomes 10,000) In addition to member groups, users will be able to have their own custom title. you can make your own statusesYou can choose if you want to see people's signatures when reading threads You can opt to not display avatars when reading threads You may choose to not receive any emails from the board administrators (mass emails will not send you mail) Birthday will become a required field in the profile. As we do not allow users under the age of 13, an age check will be in place which will remove accounts of users under this age. Automatic addition of birthdays to the calendar. When you want to use a UBBC code, such as bold, you will be able to highlight text from your message and then click on the bold icon. The UBBC tags will be instantly added around the text you highlighted. Moderators of a board will be able to change the name of any guest posts. Report to moderator link will be displayed at the bottom of posts. Moderators will have quick access to view any posts that have been reported by users. When viewing the threads on a board, you will be able to click on the number of replies. Doing so will popup a small window showing which users have participated in the thread and how many posts each person has made. You can choose which boards to disable post counts on, so users can't gain post counts by posting on certain boards. All users will be able to go into invisible mode. Administrators and Global Moderators will see these users as online with "(invisible)" after their name in the users online area. All boards may have sub-boards, that is a board that is "underneath" another board. Users will be able to keep an address book of users so that they may easily select who they want to IM. Option in IM Preferences to get a popup message when you have a new IM
